"I created this piece during three heavily transformative months… I reached a point where i was so frustrated with the way things were. I felt like I was owed so much more than I was given. ‘Why couldn’t it just be me?’”

This painting captures almost any desire to get away from the patterns I grew up with. I wanted everyone to know about me and see the things i'd been working on. But for reasons beyond my control, everyone continued to grow while I stayed stuck where I was. This piece inspired an entire collection of clothing under my brand Forever, with the first fashion show happening only a month after this painting was completely realized. It was created during moments that brought meaning to the to all of the constant failures. Years of working finally began to shape into something real.
